CROSS HR – Freeride/Freerace No CAM

6,2 m² – 8,2 m²

6,2 m² – 8,2 m²

Glide – Accelerate – Top Speed

With the new Cross HR, we’ve created a new generation in the freeride/freerace segment. It combines the planing performance of a lightwind freeride sail with the top speed of a freerace sail.

No criterion was left out during development. However, the most important aspects were the revision of the outline and profiling.

The new high-ratio outline with a shortened boom in relation to the mast length not only gave it the name “HR” but also ensures outstanding handling when jibing. The sail turns almost by itself during the jibe. The soft rotation of the battens around the mast further ensures you come out of the power jibe with full speed. This makes the Cross HR feel right at home, especially on the new shorter boards.

To ensure that no power is lost when planing with the now shorter boom, we’ve significantly increased the profile depth in the window area, further boosting planing performance. As a result, the HR glides even better than its already planing-strong predecessor. After planing, it seamlessly transitions into powerful acceleration. Up to top speed, the sail remains perfectly controllable. Across the entire wind range, the Cross feels balanced and light in your hands. Gusts are converted into additional acceleration and speed. A batten setup with tube battens keeps the pressure point firmly in place. A finely tuned loose leech ensures control in the high wind range.

Due to the slim ratio and the profile placed far forward, the Cross HR is now also excellent for use in foil surfing.

We’ve decided on a new size range for the sail line. The two “smaller” sizes, 5.6 m² and 6.0 m², with their handling-oriented outline and 5 battens, stay true to their role as maneuver-focused sails for smaller boards.

From 6.2 m² to 8.2 m², the sails feature a 6-batten freeride outline, designed for speed.

The new sizes also offer interesting options for sail sets. For example, those looking to replace an old 7.0 Cross now have two choices:

    • The 6.7 m²: It offers at least the same planing power as the old 7.0 m², but with significantly better handling.
    • Or the 7.2 m²: With power close to the old 7.5 m² but the same handling as the old 7.0 m².

The new Cross HR. The perfect symbiosis of planing power and top speed across the entire wind range. A dream for every ambitious freerider and freeracer.
